Harold C. Ostertag

Harold Charles Ostertag ( born June 22, 1896 in Attica, Wyoming County, New York; † 2 May 1985 in Pompano Beach, Florida ) was an American politician, member of the Republican Party and a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives for the State of New York.

Life

After attending public schools, a degree from the Chamberlain Military Institute (1915 ) and participation in the First World War worked Ostertag for the New York Central Railroad from 1917 until 1950. Ostertag was from 1932 to 1950 Member of the New York State Assembly and then from 1951 to 1965 Member of the house of Representatives for the state of New York. Furthermore, he was repeatedly (1952, 1956 and 1960) elected delegates to the Republican National Convention, one every four -yearly meeting to nominate the candidate of the Republican Party for election to the U.S. president and set the party program.
