Harrassowitz Verlag

The Harrassowitz Verlag is a German academic publishing house with headquarters in Wiesbaden.

The publishing house was founded in 1872 by Otto Harrassowitz together with Oscar judges as Verlagsbuchhandlung with attached bookseller in Leipzig. A little later, in 1875, Otto Harrassowitz took over sole management of the company. During the Second World War, the publishing house in Leipzig in 1943 was completely destroyed.

Since 1947, the publishing house in Wiesbaden is located.

The focus of the publishing house are book studies, and various Oriental philology at the fields. Since 2013, the publications of the Monumenta Historica Germaniae is published.
