Harry Arnold

Harry Arnold ( born August 7, 1920 in Helsingborg, † February 11, 1971 in Vällingby, real name Harry Arnold Persson ) was a Swedish tenor saxophonist, clarinetist and bandleader of the swing and modern jazz as well as a composer of film music.

Life

Harry Arnold studied clarinet, alto saxophone and arrangement. From 1942 to 1949 he led a small band playing in the club Amiralen in Malmö Folkets Park. After that he went to Thore Ehrling as arranger and tenor saxophonist. In 1952, he put back together its own formation; In 1956 he founded, together with Swedish and foreign guest artists a radio band. Arnold also emerged as an arranger and composer for film music and worked for Alice Babs and Ernestine Anderson. Harry Arnold's work also appeared under the pseudonyms "Dick Harris " and "Harry Persson ". In Sweden, he was also known for a version of the Christmas song Jingle Bells under the title Bjällerklang.
