Harry Marshall Ward ( born March 21, 1854 in Hereford, England; † August 26, 1906 ) was a British botanist, particularly in the field of plant pathology and mycology ( mycology ) made ​​a name. His botanical and mycological author abbreviation is " HMWard ".

Life

Ward 1886 Fellow at the Linnean Society, one year later in 1887 a Fellow of the Royal Horticultural Society ( FRHS ), and in 1889 a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS ). In 1895 he became professor of botany at Cambridge University, after he had been two years earlier in 1893 awarded the Royal Medal. Ward's son was the plant collector Frank Kingdon -Ward ( 1885-1958 ).
