The Harushio class (Japaneseはる しお 型, Harushio - gata ) is a class of seven hunting submarines of the Japanese sea Self-Defense Forces ( JMSDF ). It is a larger and quieter the further development Yūshio class. The Asashio was modified to test an air independent propulsion system (AIP ).
It is detached from the Soryu class.
