Hayman Island

Hayman Iceland is the northernmost island of the Cumberland Islands, thus part of the Whitsunday Islands of Queensland, Australia. The 4 km ² large island was discovered in 1866 by the HMS Salamander from when it was searched for the northern passage through the Whitsunday Islands. It is one of the luxurious hotel islands of this archipelago.

Flora and Fauna

Hayman Iceland has spruce forest, tropical rainforest and eucalyptus trees and coconut trees at the beach growing. In the waters around the island there are sea turtles, reef fish, stingrays and dolphins. Between June and September, humpback whales calving in the region.
