HC RT Torax Poruba

The HC RT thorax Poruba is a Czech ice hockey club from Poruba, a district of Ostrava, which since 2010 in the third division of the Czech Republic, the second národní hokejová league, participates.

History

The club was founded in 1946 as SK Poruba who first played as an amateur club at the regional level. In 1948 a national association was founded, the club joined and became renamed TJ Sokol Poruba. Between 1953 and 1959 the club played under the name of DSO Tatran Poruba. In 1959, the game operation of the Hockey Section was set as the natural ice rink of the club had to make way for a road construction project. In 1962 there were the first attempts, the Section Hockey revive, but only in 1964 was the next game instead. 1977 reached the summit in the third division of Czechoslovakia, the Second národní league. With only six wins from 36 games, however, the club was relegated again and in 1978 was merged with the TJ Hutní. As a result of the merger, the club name was changed to TJ Hutní Montáže Ostrava, which was shortened by fans to the battle cry " Huta Muta ".

In 1994, named the club in HK Poruba and played at this time in the regional championship Moravia -Nord. A year later promotion to the third division the Czech Republic, the second národní hokejová league.

2001, the club was renamed HC Sareza Ostrava. 2004 abolished the men's team to the championship title of the second národní hokejová league promotion to the first league in which they played until 2009. With the descent 2009, the men's team was disbanded due to financial problems, so that the HC VOKD Poruba initially focused exclusively on youth development. 2010, a new main sponsor was found, renamed the club in HC RT thorax Prouba and founded a new men's team, which was inducted into the third class 2 národní hokejová league.
