Heathcote is a settlement and census-designated place within the town of South Brunswick in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. In the 2000 census, a total population of 4,755 was recorded.

According to the census of 2000, there are 4,755 people, 2,035 households, and 1,271 families residing in the city. The population density is 698.1 inhabitants per km ². 69.36 % of the population are White, 10.96% African American, 0.06 % Native American, 16.42 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.07 % from other races, and 2.12% mixed race. 4.35% are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 2,035 households 31.4 % have children under 18 years. 50.7 % are married couples living together, 9.7% are single mothers, 37.5 % are non-families, 29.6 % consists of single-person households and 3.7% in people older than 65, the average household size is 2, 33, the average family size is 2.94.
