Héctor Hugo Eugui

Héctor Hugo Eugui ( born February 18, 1947 in Mercedes, Department of Soriano ) is an Uruguayan football coach and former player in the position of striker.

Playing career

Association

Eugui first played for his hometown club Bristol de Mercedes, with whom he won a championship in 1966. In 1966 he moved to Club Nacional and signed his first professional contract there eventually. With the Bolsos he won the championship in 1969. His next career stop was Club Atlético Cerro. There he finished in 1970 with his appearance in third place in La Liga. Defensor Sporting, Nacional, and again Cerro be called as his employer during that period. Through a commitment to the Argentinos Juniors led Euguis way the end of 1971 to Mexico, where he stood the next six years at Deportivo Toluca under contract and in the season 1974/75 won the championship. In 1978 he moved to the UANL Tigres, for whom he played until 1980 and with whom he once again reached the finals at the end of his active career to the Mexican championship of the 1979/80 season, but against the capital club Cruz Azul ( 0-1 and 3:3 ) was defeated.

National

Eugui also came in the Uruguayan Olympic team in the World Cup qualifiers for the course.

A trainer

His work as a trainer began Eugui as one of his recent time coach in the Mexican football 35 - year calculated at CF Monterrey, the arch rival of his last club Tigres.

Even after Eugui often trained teams from northern Mexico. Among other things, both teams from the border city of Juárez, as they each played in the first division: first (1990-1991), the Cobras and later (2008-2009) the Indians.
