Hector Rail

Hector Rail is a Swedish railway company in freight transport based in Stockholm. Main owner is the Norwegian shipping company Høegh family.

In December 2004, the first freight train started yet with leased locomotives of the Swedish series Rc. The company had already bought at this time all six former Norwegian Erzbahnloks the series El 15. But it was not until the summer of 2005 until all locomotives were worked up in the northern Swedish main workshop Notviken and delivered to Hector. These were given at Hector Rail the series designation 161 ( 161101-106 ).

In 2005, the company tests with Austrian locomotives of the series in 1142 and 1012 by. First three locomotives of the ÖBB series 1142 were purchased, another rented. Later, six more were added. Overall, Hector Rail has 2010 twelve locomotives of this type ( including eleven in operation) are referred to there as the 142 series ( 142001-003, 104-108, 110, 209, 210, 211).

In March 2006, two of the originally specified for SBB Cargo locomotives of the Swiss Series 474, Type ES were then taken 64 F4 and called 441 series ( 441001-002 ). This type of locomotive is known in Germany as the 189 series. Hector Rail has the first company in Sweden modern electric locomotives.

Furthermore, it was bought in 2006, a diesel-hydraulic locomotive MaK G2000 -5 BB Vossloh, which scored 941 (941 001) the series designation. A second locomotive of this type (941 102) came in February 2008 to do so.

In early 2007 signed a contract with Bombardier Hector Rail for the construction of ten electric locomotives TRAXX F140 AC type for the transport Sweden Continent via Denmark. The first locomotive was completed in early August 2007, and was the first Swedish electric locomotive, which is driven in Denmark as part of their licensing runs under its own power. In March 2007, also the three locomotives of the ÖBB class 1012 were purchased that were / tested in 2006 in 2005 and the series designation received 141 ( 141001-003 ).

Since 2008 Hector Rail operates with its series 241 through freight trains from pan - Eickelmann to the Swedish Norrköping with five pairs of trains per week.

Addition, five locomotives of the series Siemens ES64U2 held by the Company bearing the road numbers 242 503, 516, 517, 531 and 532.

In addition, the company owns two shunting locomotives that were manufactured by Kalmar AB Verkstads as SJ Series Z70 for SJ. They are among 921 series ( 921001-002 ) sorted in the series scheme. Another three NOHAB-built shunting locomotives are under the series designation 841 ( 841001-003 ) held by the Company.

Hector Rail defines the three-digit series designation as follows: The first digit indicates the number of current systems on which the locomotive can be operated, the second digit is the number of axes and the third is then a serial number.

Market shares

In 2007, 2.4 million train kilometers were driven annually.

The market share of Hector Rail in the Norwegian SGV in 2011 amounted to about 6 %, it was thus the fifth largest Norwegian SGV companies. In Sweden Hector Rail has a market share of 7 %, the largest purely private working in the freight railway undertaking. Before Hector Rail the Green Cargo Group and MTAB (transport company of the state-owned mining company LKAB ) lie. In Denmark Hector Rail long-term target a market share of 25%.
