Hedwig Pauly-Winterstein

Hedwig Pauly - Winterstein ( born October 16, 1866 as Hedwig Pauly in Breslau, † August 22, 1965 ) was a German actress.

Life

The actor's daughter wanted to be a singer and therefore visited Berlin in the Stern'sche Conservatory originally. However, since her voice was not suitable for opera, she turned the late 80s to the theater and began her acting career in Krefeld. 1890 Hedwig Pauly moved to Magdeburg, a season later to Bremen. There, she was allowed to play for the first time supporting roles of classical music, including Desdemona, Gretchen, the Clara and the Hero. 1894 was followed by the artist Professor at the German Theatre in Berlin. At this stage it was also successful in modern pieces, such as Agnes in Henrik Ibsen's Brand. 1898 Hedwig Pauly went to the Residenz Theater, 1900 she transferred to the Secessionsbühne, where they were performing their debut Schwanhild in Love's Comedy.

At this time, just before the turn of the century, she married colleagues Eduard von Winterstein.
