Hege Riise

Hege Riise ( born July 18, 1969 in Lørenskog ) is a Norwegian football player. The midfielder was captain of the Norwegian national team, for which she played from 1990 to 2004. With 188 international appearances she was 2009 European record national until April 22, it was replaced by Birgit Prinz. Also, any more than Europeans still Kerstin Stegemann (191 games) and Katrine Pedersen (196 games) surpass that mark and set Sandrine Soubeyrand.

In 1991, she was Vice- Europe and Vice World Champion with Norway. She became European Champion in 1993 with the Norwegian selection. Two years later she won the world championship with her team. With five goals, it was the second top scorer in the final against Germany and they scored the opening goal in the 2-0 victory. Then she became the first woman player of the year in Norway. In 1996 she won the first Olympic football tournament of the women's bronze medal. In 2000, she led her team to Olympic victory. Three years later she was elected by the Norwegian Football Association of Norway's best football player of all time.

Between 2009 and 2011 she was assistant coach Pia Sundhage of, the coach of the U.S. women's national team. From 2011 to 2012 she worked as sports director at Lillestrøm SK Kvinner and since the beginning of 2013 she is assistant coach of the Norwegian women's national team Even Pellerud.
