Heidi Brunner

Heidi Brunner (* 1961 in Lucerne) is a Swiss opera singer in the vocal range soprano.

Biography

Training and beginnings as a mezzo- soprano

Heidi Brunner studied singing, organ and conducting in Zurich, Lucerne and Basel. After first appearances in Basel, Innsbruck and Biel she was from 1993 to 1995 in the engagement at the National Theatre Dessau. After an engagement at the Komische Oper Berlin Brunner was from 1996 to 1999 member of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Volksoper. At the Volksoper in Vienna she sang among others in the new productions of La Clemenza di Tito, La Cenerentola and Norma. She also sang the title role in La Périchole. After her debut as Rosina at the Vienna State Opera in January 1997, she was there to listen as Idamantes in Idomeneo, Zerlina in Don Giovanni and as Nicklausse in The Tales of Hoffmann.

In 1998, Heidi Brunner their debut in the new production of L' Orfeo at the Munich Festival as well as at the Vienna Festival. In addition, she sang at the Vienna OsterKlang and 2003 in the new production of Idomeneo under the Klangbogen Festival at the Theater an der Wien, the role of Idamantes.

It was followed by further debuts in 2006 as Marie in Wozzeck at the Hamburg State Opera and as Vitellia in La Clemenza di Tito at the Vienna Volksoper. There she also took on the role of Marta in Eugen d' Albert lowland of 2007. In 2008 she gave her debut in Seoul as Kundry in Parsifal by Richard Wagner. In 2009 she made ​​her debut as Sieglinde in Die Walküre by Richard Wagner at the Hamburg State Opera.

Heidi Brunner is regularly active as a concert singer, including in Milan, Rimini, Paris, Lyon, Zurich, Basel, Lisbon, Basel, Helsingborg, Munich, Duisburg and at the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Musikverein in Vienna.
