Heike Raab

Heike Raab ( born April 8, 1965 in Cochem ) is a German politician (SPD ) and State.

Professional career

1984 graduated from the High School in Koblenz Heike Raab and trained as a physiotherapist at the RWTH Aachen. 1988-1992 she studied from political science, public law and Spanish at the Rheinische Friedrich- Wilhelms- University Bonn and graduated with a Master of Arts. During a stay abroad in Madrid on " Instituto de Relaciones Europeo - Latino Americanas " she worked on the economic relations between the EU and Latin America.

Political career

1989 Raab joined the SPD and became a member of the District Board in Cochem- Zell. After working as a research associate at the German Bundestag 1993 she became personal assistant to the Rhineland-Palatinate Minister President Rudolf Sharping. From 1994 to 1998 she worked in this capacity and as a consultant for SME policy in the SPD parliamentary group. From 1999 to 2001 she was Head of Unit for Economic Relations in the State of Rhineland- Palatinate. Also in 1999, ran Heike Raab Landrätin in Cochem- Zell. With 48.5 percent, it fell just short of the victory. In 2000 she was elected chairman of the SPD sub-district Cochem- Zell. From 2001 to 2011 she was member of parliament for the constituency of 15 Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. From 2001 to 2006 she was a media policy spokesperson for the SPD parliamentary group from 2002 to 2011 she was a representative of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament in the Broadcasting Council of the SWR. In 2004 she became a member of the district Cochem - Zell and SPD parliamentary leader. May 2006 and Heike Raab served as Secretary General of the SPD Rhineland- Palatinate until 2011.

State Government

After the state elections in 2011 Heike Raab moved as Secretary, Ministry of the Interior, for sports and infrastructure Rhineland -Palatinate ( ISIM ) in the state government. Her successor as member of parliament went to their second candidate Benedict Easter.

As Secretary of State at the Home Office, it is IT representative of the state government, CIO and as such a member of the IT Planning Council. She is responsible for the interior and Permanent Representative of the Minister of Interior Ministers Conference

She is Chair of the Atlantic Academy, based in Kaiserslautern
