Heimssýn

Heimssýn ( Isl worldview ) is a bipartisan Icelandic Association of Eurosceptics. It was founded in 2002 and wants to prevent EU accession Islands. The purpose of the association is to " encourage open debate on Europe and international cooperation " is a. The Association's members come from most of Iceland's parties, among them many prominent current and former politician. Heimssýn is a member of the international organization The European Alliance of EU -critical Movements ( TEAM ).

The Association was founded more than 100 founding members in June 2002. In a written statement establishing points out that Iceland has been hailed as small, young nation in the last century with great success. Although collaborations with organizations such as the EU are important accession to the EU but the wrong way to continue the Icelandic successes.

Management team

Chairman of Heimssyn is Ragnar Arnalds, former member of the Icelandic parliament Althingi and Finance. He was re-elected in 2006. Vice- President since 2004 Sigurdur Kári Kristjánsson, who is also a deputy in the Althing. Another prominent member of the management team was Steingrímur Hemm, former Prime Minister of Iceland. The leadership of the Association further include (former Minister of Education ) and Bjarni Harðarson ( Member of Parliament for the Progress Party ) Árni Þór Sigurðsson at ( MP for the Left-Green Movement), Illugi Gunnarsson ( Member for the Independence Party ), Ingvar Gíslason.
