Heinrich Kleinschroth

Heinrich Klein Schroth ( born March 15, 1890 in Kitzingen, † January 10, 1979 in Munich) was a German tennis player.

Life

Small Schroth, a member of the MTTC Iphitus, took from 1906 to tennis tournaments. In 1910 he won the tournaments in Barcelona, St. Moritz and Bad Homburg. At the tournament of Queen's Club in 1911, he lost the semi-final against Anthony Wilding. In 1912 he played at the U.S. Championships, but already retired on the first lap.

At the Wimbledon Championships he came in individual never beyond the third round. In doubles, he reached in 1913 on the side of Friedrich Wilhelm Rahe the final, subject to there, however, the British Herbert Roper Barrett and Charles Dixon in four sets.

After the First World War Kleinschroth occurred only from 1927 again at international tournaments. In 1930, he reached the second round at the French Championships. In 1938 he took the end of his career in part to the Australian Championships in doubles, but already retired on the first lap. 1913 and from 1928 to 1930 played small Schroth in the Davis Cup and was then captain of the German team. In addition, he was a long -time trainer of Gottfried von Cramm.

In the 1960s, small Schroth worked as a functionary of the International Tennis Federation.

Small Schroth died in 1979 at the age of 88 years in Munich.
