Heinrich Pickel

Heinrich Pickel (* 1883 in Kottenheim; † July 3, 1964 ) was a German businessman and politician ( center, later CDU).

Life and career

Pickel was born the son of an industrialist. After visiting the Bautechnikums in Bingen and the commercial vocational school in Cologne, he took over the family business in the basalt and tuff industry. By the merger of Stonemason he built from the operating company TUBAG 1922 and took over the post of Chief Executive Officer. In 1932 he moved the headquarters to Kruft. In addition, he was Chairman of the Employers 'Association of the circle Mayen, Chairman of the German Natural Stone Association and Chairman of the Employers' Association and quarrying Koblenz- Neuwied. In 1951, he resigned as CEO of the company TUBAG, but remained still in the Supervisory Board.

Party

Pickel was a member of the Centre Party during the Weimar Republic. After 1945 he was one of the founders of the CDU in Kottenheim. He was elected Chairman of the CDU district association Mayen and was a member of the District Executive and the executive committee of the Rhineland-Palatinate Christian Democrats since 1951.

Member of Parliament

Pickel was elected in 1924 the Council of the Municipality Kottenheim and was from 1928 to 1933 district council member of the circle Mayen. The Rhineland- Palatinate state parliament he was a member from 1947 to 1963.
