Heinz Kunert

Heinz Kunert ( born March 25, 1927 in Sarnau ( Opole district / province of Upper Silesia, now Poland ), † April 6, 2012 in Cologne ) was a German inventor and expert on traffic safety. His many inventions include the heated rear window and the outer skin flush car glazing ( extrusion). More than 50 patents, developments and product improvements in vehicle glazing as well as protection against injury go back to him.

Life

In 1948 Heinz Kunert began studying philosophy, psychology, and physics at the Friedrich-Wilhelm University in Bonn, which he in 1953 with Dr. phil. summa cum laude. He then enrolled in economics and sociology at the University of Cologne. From 1951 to 1954 he was a research assistant working in the former Advisory and Research Centre for Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Economy and Transport in North Rhine -Westphalia, where he conducted research and reconnaissance missions for the Federal Ministry of Transport. On behalf of the Foreign Office, he visited in 1954 for six months in South Africa.

From 1955 to 1957 he went to a professional activity whose focus was the implementation of research contracts for federal and state transport authorities. 1957 Kunerts began working at the Cologne Securit glass -Union GmbH, where he managed to climb from employee to manager in the areas of technology, product development, press and public relations. After his 20 - year tenure in the company, he was retired in 1992.
