Heinz Pototschnig

Heinz Pototschnig (* June 30, 1923 in Graz, † April 11, 1995 in Villach ) was an Austrian physician and writer.

Life

After he had completed his medical studies univ with the degree of Dr. Heinz Pototschnig worked as a general practitioner in Villach. He was also active as a writer. In 1977 he took part in Klagenfurt on the first Ingeborg Bachmann competition.

Heinz Pototschnig written narrative works, essays, poetry and radio plays.

Heinz Pototschnig received, inter alia, 1965 and 1971 the Theodor Körner Prize, the 1969 Peter Rosegger price, 1984, the Great Golden Medal of the Province of Styria and the 1994 Cultural Prize of the city of Villach.
