Helixe

Helices Games was a development studio of the U.S. software company THQ, based in Burlington (Massachusetts, USA), which exclusively to the development of video games for Nintendo's mobile gaming handheld Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS focused.

Helices Games was founded in July 2000 by Rafael Baptista and Kurt Bickenbach, the previously developed 3D games for the PC. Since its founding, the studio grew steadily and was last of three development teams. Among the employees in helices is Dave Konieczny, Jeff Dixon, Chris Bruser, Gareth Hinds and Christopher D. White. Baptista left the company in 2003.

Among other things, they developed several video game implementations of Pixar animated films such as Ratatouille or Cars for portable game consoles. Already the first five developed games sold worldwide more than 1.3 million times, a total of over 4 million games were sold.

In the Develop 100, a standard established by the British Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association and Chart-Track list of the most successful gaming company, reached helices in 2006, the 86th, even 47th place is noted in 2007 that this list only based on video game sales in the United Kingdom.

Helices was early November 2008, just like four more THQ development studios closed for economic reasons. Several of the former helices employees then founded the Boston development studio DoubleTap Games, which will develop games for the Nintendo DS.
