Hella Jongerius
Hella Jongerius (* May 30, 1963 in De Meern, Netherlands) is a Dutch designer. They combined in their work simple and sophisticated techniques, traditional and contemporary.
Life
Hella Jongerius studied after an apprenticeship as a carpenter at the Design Academy Eindhoven, where she graduated in 1993. Then she became a member of the designer collective Droog Design in Amsterdam. In 1993 she started her own company in Rotterdam: Jongeriuslab. From 1998 to 1999 she taught at the Academy in Eindhoven industrial design and was there in the years from 2000 to 2004, the head of the department Living / Atelier. Since 2008 Jongerius next to the location in Rotterdam her studio in a shed in the chestnut avenue in Berlin.
