Osnabrück won the following penalty shootout and moved later on to the quarter -finals. However, in the rest of the season Grieneisen came only sporadically as a substitute for use. VfL succeeded the immediate resurgence, Grieneisen was canceled for the following season from the squad and suggested to him a change of club.
