2009–10 DFB-Pokal

The matches of the DFB - Pokal 2009/10 began on July 31, 2009 and ended with the final between defending champions Werder Bremen and FC Bayern Munich in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on May 15, 2010. The Cup has been played for 67 times and went to the the 15th time in the team of Bayern Munich. The final result was 0:4.

The DFB - Pokal winner gets right to start in the play-off round of the UEFA Europa League 2010/11. Since the tournament winner FC Bayern Munich, but also the losing in the final team of Werder Bremen qualified and participating in the qualification already by winning the German championship for participation in the higher order UEFA Champions League third place in the National League was able to secure this competition, received an additional participant from the Bundesliga restart right. The 64 teams have been set for the draw for the first round in two pots: In amateur pot all the teams were included, the

  • Qualified through the national trophies for the DFB Cup had (24)
  • Had in the 2008/ 09 season occupies the last four places in the Second Bundesliga ( 4)
  • Had in the 2008/ 09 season occupied the first four places in the 3rd league ( 4)

Each of these teams was randomly assigned team from the professional pot in which all the teams of the First Bundesliga and the 14 highest ranked teams from the Second Bundesliga season 2008/ 09 were included. The venue where the teams enjoy the amateur pot. The draw for the first round of the DFB.Pokals took place on June 27, 2009 in the sports show.

In the second round was also drawn from an amateur and a professional pot. But here were the teams that had risen in the Second Bundesliga, as professional teams. Here, too, enjoyed the amateur teams, otherwise the first geloste in a pairing team, home advantage.

The draw for the first main round took place on June 27, 2009. The matches were played between 31 July and 3 August 2009.

The draw took place in the framework of the Bundesliga match between TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich on August 8. It was played on 22 and 23 September 2009.
