Marko Marin ( born March 13, 1989 in Bosanska Gradiška, SFR Yugoslavia ) is a German football player.

Life

As Marko Marin was two years old, wandered his Serbian origin parents to Germany. His father Ranko used to play football and even worked as a talent scout at Borussia Moenchengladbach and Werder Bremen. Marko Marin grew up in Frankfurt- Unterliederbach, where his parents still live today.

Marin first attended the Leibniz -Gymnasium in Frankfurt- Höchst and later the high school at Geroweiher in Mönchengladbach, where he completed his education in 2007 with the diploma.

Club career

Youth / Amateur

Marko Marin began at SG 01 Höchst with the football games. Later he played in the youth of Eintracht Frankfurt, which he left at the beginning of the season 2005/ 06 in the direction of Borussia Mönchengladbach. National

As Marin's birthplace in Bosnia and Herzegovina is, he had until the end of January 2008, the dual citizenship and would have been eligible to play for Bosnian national teams. However, he opted for the DFB. There he went through all the national youth teams up to U 18, where he was among the top performers. He then skipped the next two selections and was used on 21 August 2007 against Ireland for the first time in the U-21 national team.

In February 2007, Marin was next to Björn Kopplin FC Bayern Munich II and Manuel Fischer from VfB Stuttgart as one of three German for the UEFA CAF Meridian Cup, at the start of a European and an African U-18 team against each other nominated.
