Unterliederbach is since 1 April 1928 the district of Frankfurt am Main.

Location

Unterliederbach is located in the northwest of the local District 6 (Frankfurt- West), about 9.6 km west of the main station. It is bordered to the west by the district and the district Zeilsheim Are Lingen, in the southeast on the maximum and on the northeast by Sossenheim. In neighboring Main- Taunus-Kreis Unterliederbach borders the municipalities Unterliederbach Sulzbach am Taunus.

History

The name derives from the district was the songs stream which runs past the old town center and is first mentioned in 800 in a donation to the counts of Nürings eyelids as Bach or Leoderbach. The village itself is, however, already been established around 550. Around the time the neighboring villages and low Hofheim Oberliederbach emerged (both now part of Liederbach am Taunus). Settlement finds in the area even date back to about 3000 BC, during the Roman period there were some farms in the district.

The name Unterliederbach or inferior eyelids Bach appeared in 1200 on the first time. After extinction of the Gaugrafen of Nürings 1175 Unterliederbach came to power Eppstein. In 1492 it was sold to the Landgrave of Hesse, since 1567 part of Hesse- Darmstadt. In 1803 it came to the Duchy of Nassau- Usingen and later assigned in 1814 to the Duchy of Nassau. After the German - German war of 1866 it was accompanied by Hessen- Nassau Prussian.

1917 Unterliederbach was incorporated in Höchst am Main and was so in 1928 together with the Höchst district of Frankfurt am Main.

The development of the town was influenced from the late 19th century greatly influenced by the inking maximum (later Hoechst AG). As of 1891, the workers' settlements angels rest and crickets emerged. 1956, built by Hoechst AG Silobad was opened, Frankfurt's oldest outdoor heated pool. The Silobad in 1994 leased for the symbolic price of one mark to the city of Frankfurt.

Traffic

Unterliederbach lies south of the A66 and is connected with two connection points. The connection point " Frankfurt-Höchst " (16 ) is located on the outskirts transverse to the king Steiner Street, while " Kelkheim " (15 ) lies on the Schmalkaldener road and is only used by or towards the city center.

Important Main Street in a north-south direction is next to the King Steinerstraße the Liederbacher road.

Development

The continuous development Unterliederbach Bach is roughly bounded by the Rhine -Main -Schnellweg (A 66) in the north and by the tracks of the Königstein Railway in the west, while seamlessly into the development of maximum in the southeast.

The songs creek separates Unterliederbach into an eastern and a western part. Here, the eastern part to the much higher population density.

Single building

The most famous building of the district, the Centennial Hall was built by Hoechst AG and opened in 1963 ( also in 1994 donated to the city). In the vernacular, it is therefore called even today, not quite correctly, Centennial Hall High.

Not far away is the Fraport Arena, which will be held in the basketball, handball, tennis, boxing and other sports.

Good condition is the baroque village church, the oldest building in the old center, whose origin dates back to the 12th century. Since 1527, the church is Protestant. Nevertheless, located in the church to be the Catholic confessional time. It is, however, not been to confession. Rather, the small chamber is used right in front of the altar as a storage room. In the 17th century the church was rebuilt in the baroque style country. On her graveyard of Nassau reformer Carl von Ibell (1780-1834) is buried.

Building ensembles
