Geography
Course
The songs Bach created west of Königstein from the confluence of Rombach and Reichenbach. After about 16 kilometers, the songs stream flows on the grounds of the Höchst Industrial Park west of the Leuna bridge into the Main. River History

Originally the songs Bach branched in its lower reaches into several branches, which flowed the River Main. The eastern arm, which flowed into maximum over the area of today's castle square was filled in this area since the Middle Ages. The creek water was initially introduced into the moat, and later in the moat around the city wall.
Early regulations
Already in the late 16th century was a first regulation of Bach's songs in the sub- district Liederbacher means of a weir to protect maximum prior to the regular flooding of the creek. Part of the water was diverted here in the Highest mill race. Since the weir caused flooding on lower Liederbacher fields, it was moved several times due to the following, lasting until the 18th century disputes between maximum and Unterliederbach.
With the growth Unterliederbach Bach and Hoechst in the 19th century, the creek was channeled songs and brought into its present course. The remaining creek arms were filled. The mill race which still flowed parallel to the king Steiner Street at the beginning of the 20th century, was the site closure of the Highest Mainmühle also filled in and built over.

In studies 2004, the Brook Trout in Unterliederbach was detected.
