Henri Meschonnic

Henri Meschonnic ( born September 18, 1932 in Paris, † April 8, 2009 in Villejuif ) was a French poet, linguist and translator. Until 1997, he taught as a professor of language and literature at the University of Paris VIII

Work

His theory of language he developed from practice, from his poems and translations. Especially his translation of several books of the Old Testament and his studies on Victor Hugo has made him known. At the reception in Germany writes the literary scholar Hans Losener:
