Henri Vernes

Charles -Henri Dewisme alias Henri Vernes ( born October 16, 1918 in Ath ) is a Belgian writer and comic book writer.

Career

After abandoning his studies, Charles -Henri Dewisme went for a short time to China. After his return, he worked in the literary field and was able in 1944 to publish his first novel. After the war he worked as a freelance journalist in the French- speaking world.

At the request of Jean -Jacques Schellens, the publisher of Marabout, he created in 1953 under his pen name Henri Vernes the fictional character Bob Morane. In the Belgian women's magazine Femmes d' Aujourd'hui, there was a multi-year collaboration with the artist Dino Attanasio.
