Henricus Petrus

Sebastian Henric Petri ( Sebastian Petri, * 1546 in Basel, † 1627 ) was a printer from the Basel dynasty of Peter, who were related to the Nuremberg John Petreius.

The typographus Adam Petri Anna Same widow married 1530 cosmographers and humanist Sebastian Münster. Anna's son Heinrich Petri printed 1544, the main work of his stepfather, the Cosmographia. Sons of Heinrich Petri were Sebastian Henric Petri, Adam Henricpetri and Sixtus Henricpetri.

Sebastian Henric Petri -printed in 1566, the second edition of De revolutionibus orbium Coelestium of Nicolaus Copernicus, a book was published in Nuremberg in 1543, the limited circulation (500 ). From 1572 he printed numerous Latin and German works, including many history books. On March 24, 1626 was forced to declare bankruptcy of his print shortly before his death as a result of the Thirty Years' War. One of his most famous employee was the proofreader, writer and editor Nicholas Höniger.
