Henry Allard

Karl Åke Henry Allard ( born November 21, 1911 in Örebro, † October 23, 1996 ) was a Swedish politician of the Socialdemokraterna.

Biography

Allard was first elected in 1943 as the representative of Socialdemokraterna for Members of the Second Chamber of the Diet, where he remained until the introduction of the single- 1970. He was then to 1979 member of the Reichstag.

Between 1956 and 1969 he was chairman of the Reich Sports Federation ( Riksidrottsstyrelsen ).

In 1969 he was elected President of the Second Chamber of the Diet. After the parliamentary reform, he was finally in 1971 the first President ( Talman ) of Einkammerreichstags and held that post until 1979. Despite the majority of the Civil bearing from Centerpartiet, Moderata samlingspartiet and Folkpartiet liberal nutrition under the new Prime Minister Thorbjorn Fälldin he was re-elected in 1976 as president of the Reichstag.

After his death, the city council decided his hometown of Örebro, renamed the Central Park (Central Park) in " Henry Allard's park ".
