Henry Cavill
Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill ( born May 5, 1983, Jersey, Channel Islands ) is a British actor.
Life
Henry Cavill grew up as the fourth of five brothers on Jersey, but she attended the Stowe School in Stowe, Buckinghamshire. Already in the school theater showed Cavills talent for acting; he was usually ( as Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream ) occupied for great roles.
Cavill was discovered at age 17 in 2000 by director Dennis Berry. The youth drama Laguna - first shown in April 2001 - was Cavills film debut. His breakthrough came in 2002 at the site of Jim Caviezel in Kevin Reynolds adventure movie Monte Cristo. Then Cavill was, inter alia, Tristan & Isolde in the 2006 in front of the camera.
Three rolls of film, for which he auditioned also, Cavill had left to other actors, however. In Batman Begins, as well as in Superman Returns and James Bond 007 - Casino Royale he took part in the auditions, but the respective roles went to Christian Bale, Brandon Routh and Daniel Craig. In the film Stardust, he was seen in 2007 on the side of Michelle Pfeiffer and Claire Danes once again on the big screen.
His biggest success came with Henry Cavill of The Tudors series. In it, he played the role of Charles Brandon - a charismatic young man, the women are at your feet and is not afraid of pleasures and is a good friend and close advisor of King Henry VIII (played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers). The loyalty and friendship is put to the test, however, when Brandon fell in love with the king's sister.
In Zack Snyder's Superman film Man of Steel, which was released in June 2013, Cavill played the lead role.
The young actor who has many fans, especially in England, his private life keeps largely away from the public. In May 2011 it was announced that he 's engaged to the showjumper Ellen Whitaker. The engagement was, however, released in August 2012 again, after the couple had already separated months earlier. He is now romantically involved with actress and former mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano.
