Henry Cele

Henry Cele (pronounced [ hɛnri | ɛ: le]; born January 30, 1949 in Durban, † November 2, 2007 same place ) was a South African actor and former football player. He gained the title role of the television series Shaka Zulu from 1986 to international prominence.

Life and career

His first career reached its peak in the 1970s. Cele was then successful professional footballer. As a goalkeeper he makes up his enormous mobility attention to himself, which earned him the nickname "Black Cat". After finishing his sports career, he moved into acting.

Henry Cele played leading roles in a number of South African feature and television films and was during his active career as an actor also repeated on the theater stage. His breakthrough had Cele 1986, when he became known for his portrayal of the Zulu king Shaka in the South African Broadcasting Corporation ( SABC ) produced television series Shaka Zuku international notoriety. , In Germany this series at the time was seen in the ZDF.
