Henry de Montfort

Henry de Montfort (* November 1238 in Kenilworth, † August 4, 1265 in Evesham ) was an English nobleman and military commander. He was the eldest son of Simon de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester, and Princess Eleanor of England, daughter of King John.

Henry was born in Kenilworth Castle, and after his uncle, King Henry III. of England, named, which was also his godfather. As a loyal supporter of his father he was during the so-called "Second Baron 's War " but against his royal relatives.
