Henry White Beeson

Henry White Beeson ( born September 14, 1791 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, † October 28, 1863 ) was an American politician. Between 1841 and 1843 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Henry Beeson attended the common schools and worked in agriculture. He was also a member of the militia in Fayette County, where he rose to the colonel. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party.

Following the resignation of Mr Enos Hook Beeson was in the due election as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on 31 May 1841. Since he has not been confirmed in 1842, he could only finish the current term in Congress until March 3, 1843. This period was characterized by the tensions between President John Tyler and the Whigs. It was also at that time already been discussed about a possible annexation of the independent Republic of Texas since 1836 by Mexico.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives, Henry Beeson operated again in agriculture. He died on October 28, 1863 near Uniontown, where he was also buried.
