Enos Hook

Enos Hook ( born December 3, 1804 in Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania, † July 15, 1841 ) was an American politician. Between 1839 and 1841 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

After studying law and his 1826 was admitted as a lawyer Enos Hook began working in Waynesburg in this profession. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. In the years 1837 and 1838 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania.

In the congressional elections of 1838, Hook was in the 20th electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Andrew Buchanan on March 4, 1839. After a re-election, he could remain until his resignation on April 18, 1841 in Congress. He died on 15 July of the same year in Waynesburg, where he was also buried.
