Herb Pedersen

Herb Pedersen (* April 27, 1944 in Berkeley ) is an American country musician who is active as a banjo player in the bluegrass scene since the early 1960s.

Biography

Herb Pedersen made ​​music already as a teenager, together with future stars such as Jerry Garcia and David Nelson. In 1963 he founded with his friends Butch Waller and David Nelson, the Pine Valley Boys. The group was completed by the Fiddler Richard Greene and existed until 1966. She had countless appearances, but no records were taken.

In 1966 he joined the elderly bluegrass duo Vern & Ray, which has long been a banjo player was looking for. The cooperation proved to be satisfactory such that one in 1967 moved to Nashville, the commercial center of the country music. The expected results did not materialize, however.
