Herbert Martin

Herbert Martin ( born August 29, 1925 in Ensdorf, Saarland ) is a former German football player.

Career

Club football

Martin played from 1950 to 1961 for the 1st FC Saarbruecken, with whom he won the Oberliga West twice. In 1952 he played at the FCS in the final of the German Cup, which was lost against VfB Stuttgart 2:3, he had two operations in 1955 in the European Cup of Champions.

National

For the Saarland national Martin played 17 times and was by Waldemar Philippi the most widely used players on the team. He was both the first international match in 1950 and in the last game in 1956 on the place and lacked intervening only in two games. He is also with six goals along with Herbert Binkert scorer of the Saarland team.
