Autumn Gold is a German documentary by German director Jan Tenhaven, shot in the years 2007 to 2009. Production of movie film was produced by the Brothers Beetz in co-production with Navigator Film Vienna, WDR, NDR in cooperation with ARTE. Had its world premiere of the film on May 4, 2010 at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in Toronto. In the same year the movie was released in Germany and Austria in the cinema. The German Film and Media Review (FBW ) Autumn Gold has the predicate " particularly valuable " award.
Content
The film tells the life-affirming story of five elderly people from all over Europe, which connects the common goal of the IAAF World Veterans Championships in Lahti, Finland. The biggest challenge is their old age. The potential world champions are between 80 and 100 years old, the eldest of the five is Alfred Proksch from Vienna. They are fighting against their own mortality with ambition, humor and self-irony.
