Herenaus Haid

Herenäus Haid ( * February 15, 1784 at Geisen field; † January 7, 1873 in Munich) was a German theologian, author and translator.

Life

Haid took 1804 in Landshut theological studies at Johann Michael Sailer on. After his ordination in 1807 he received his doctorate a year later. In 1813 he took over the chair of exegesis in St. Gallen. Besides his work as a preacher Haid was known for his publications on the St. Peter Canisius, which included the publication of his writings in addition to a biography.

His 1811 reform in the rosary, which he had referred in his former shape as a " mere Battologie, vain babbling ", published criticism was this approach does not do justice.
