Hermann Jöckel

Hermann Jöckel ( born October 8, 1920 in Schierstein, † June 2, 1991 in Mannheim, Germany ) was a German football player.

Career to 1946

Hermann Jöckel was in December 1931 Member of the FSV Schierstein 08 and began in 1932 as a goalkeeper with this club to play soccer. In 1936 his parents moved to Frankfurt ( Main). He was therefore a member of Eintracht Frankfurt and was at this club in various youth teams ( A- Youth, Youth B ) from 1 August 1936 to 31 March 1937 at the gate. After another move, he was careful from 1 April 1937, the goal at FC Phoenix Alemannia Karlsruhe, first in the A- Youth, then in the first team this association.

His athletic career was interrupted by conscription into the army and naval service, which ended by the capture by the English. On 6 December 1946, he returned from a British prisoner of war from Canada to Schierstein back.

Career from 1947

After a short stay in Schier stone was Hermann Jöckel from VfR Mannheim, then playing in the newly founded Oberliga Süd, committed as a goalkeeper. His first official match for this club, he completed on 12 January 1947 in the local match VfL Neckarau against VfR Mannheim, which was won by VfR 2-1. In the 1946/47 season, he completed a total of 20 games for the VfR Mannheim. In the game season 1947/48 Hermann Jöckel lacked only on a game day, ie 23 November 1947. Coming from on Matchday he then graduated up to the November 16, 1952 all possible point games for the VfR Mannheim, namely 159 games in a row.

At the height of his footballer career playing the season 1948/49 was. After he had assigned the VfR Mannheim this season in the Oberliga Süd behind the Offenbacher Kickers 2nd place, he surprised with his club in the final round of the German Cup football all football fans. His club hit in the first round Hamburger SV 5:0 and in the semifinal of the Offenbach Kickers 2-1 in and was thus in the final, in which he with Hermann Jöckel goal Borussia Dortmund in a rousing game 3-2 defeated and thus German football champion.

Was very successful for the VfR Mannheim and thus for Hermann Jöckel even the playing season 1949 /50. The club finished fourth in the Oberliga Süd and had qualified for participation in the preliminary round of the German Cup. There it came to the new edition of the final match of the season 1958/49 VfR Mannheim against BV Borussia Dortmund, which was won by VfR Mannheim 3-1 gates. In the second round but then lost it against Prussia Dellbrueck with 1:2 goals and thus retired before reaching the semi-finals.

Hermann Jöckel played after that until the new season in 1954/55 for the VfR Mannheim. However, the successes of the period 1948 to 1950 could not be achieved. Overall, he completed 241 point games for this club.

In the 1955/56 season he was then end the evening with ASV Landau his playing career.

After playing career

Hermann Jöckel had made during his time as an active player, a coach training. After his playing days, he took over as coach for the following clubs: ASV Landau, VfR Buerstadt, ASV Feudenheim, SpVgg Amicitia Four Home, TuS Altrip and in the season 1974/75 also VfR Mannheim, at the same time he was also playing Committee Chairman. With the youth team of TuS Altrip he came in 1970 even in the final of the German A Youth Championship.

In his last years he plays tennis as a hobby.
