Hermann Ludwig Kutzschbach

Hermann Ludwig Kutzschbach ( born August 30, 1875 in Meissen, † February 9, 1938 in Dresden ) was a German conductor and music teacher.

The pupil of Felix Draeseke worked from 1895 to 1906, first as a coach, then as assistant conductor in addition to Ernst von Schuch at the Court Opera in Dresden. From 1906 to 1909 he was principal conductor of the National Theatre Mannheim. He then returned to Dresden and after the death of Schuch 1914 principal conductor of the Court Opera.

He led the Dresden orchestra school and conducted the premiere in 1927 by Othmar Schoeck's opera Penthesilea. Among his pupils were, inter alia, Hugo Alfvén and Ruben Liljefors.
