Heron Tower

The Heron Tower (also known as 110 Bishopsgate ) is a skyscraper in London. With a height of 202 meters ( including pole 230 meters) it is the third tallest building in London to the One Canada Square and the tallest building in the City of London. The construction of the tower began in 2008 and was completed in early 2011.

The developer Heron International first planned a high-rise building with 183 meters height. After the presentation of the plans of the architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox, however, encouraged resistance in the population, and the tower of Waterloo Bridge seen from very close would draw near to St Paul's Cathedral. A public inquiry headed by the Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott finally ruled in favor of the client, in July 2002 the plans were approved.

2005 Heron International submitted revised plans for the skyscraper, which provided for a height of 202 or 230 meters. In January 2006, the new plans of the City of London Corporation have been approved. In April 2008, work began on the construction.
