Herzog Zwei

Herzog Zwei (Japanese:ヘルツォークツヴァイ· ) is a real- time strategy game by Technosoft and was released in 1989 for the Sega Mega Drive. It is the successor of the game Duke for the MSX.

This game is considered the oldest game that implements the currently known elements of the genre real-time strategy game in shape.

Game Description

In the game itself you act in real time against a computer controlled opponents on an overview map. Both parties have a home base, also have a greater number of neutral bases distributed on the cards ( similar as in the computer game Z), one can conquer. In the respective bases, a selection of different types of units (eg infantry, armor, defensive towers ) and built with an order ( attack, defend, conquer base ) are provided. Once these units are used, they act on their own after they have received the commands.

The cursor of the game is special in that it interacts directly with the game. It involves a jet, attack the enemy units, transport individual own units and can transform himself into a ground combat robot. It is possible to destroy him for a short time, but he appears then quickly back at home base on.
