The Heugstatt is a 1,262 meter high mountain in the quiet northern Bavarian forest not far from the more famous Großer Arber.

Its summit plateau forms a meadow, which was used until the 1950s as pasture for young cattle. Today, the long-distance hiking trail leads from the E6 and gold Arber for Kaitersberg and Eck on the Heugstatt, which marks the center of the Arber comb.

To the west below the summit of the mountain hut Schareben which is managed throughout the year without a day off and with the car from ground corn or Arnbruck and Drachselsried be reached on some unpaved roads. There, the shortest rise to the Heugstatt which is hardly climbed as an independent hike. Worthwhile is the way on to the little ones Arber or in the opposite direction to Schwarzeck, corner and Kaitersberg.
