Hieronim Augustyn Lubomirski

Prince Hieronim Augustyn Lubomirski (* 1647 in Rzeszów, † April 20, 1706 ) was a Polish magnate, politician and Great Hetman of the Polish crown.

Life

Under the command of Jan Sobieski, he fought against the Turks and took part in the siege of Chotyn in 1673.

During the election of a king from 1697 Lubomirski supported the Prince François Louis de Bourbon, prince de Conti as a candidate for the Polish throne. He advocated the removal of August II 1704, hoping to get himself on the Polish throne with the help of Sweden. After the election of Stanislaus Leszczyńskis to the Polish king, he withdrew from political life.
