Hilario Chávez Joya

Hilario Chávez Joya MNM ( born January 14, 1928 in Mexico City; † March 4, 2010 in Leon ) was Roman Catholic bishop of Nuevo Casas Grandes.

Life

Hilario Chávez Joya joined the Congregation of the Missionaries de la Natividad de Maria and received on 22 October 1950, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On April 13, 1977, he was named Paul VI. the prelates of Nuevo Casas Grandes and Titular Bishop of Crepedula. The Apostolic Delegate in Mexico, Mario Pio Gaspari, consecrated him on July 7 of the same year the bishop; Adalberto Almeida y Merino were co-consecrators, Archbishop of Chihuahua, and Manuel Talamas Camandari, Bishop of Ciudad Juárez.

Chávez Joya was appointed by John Paul II as Bishop of Nuevo Casas Grandes on 3 June 2000.

On May 22, 2004 In the withdrawal request was granted on grounds of age.
