Hildegard Körner

Hildegard Körner (born Ullrich, born December 20, 1959 in Urnshausen ) is a former German track and field athlete and Olympic participant ( starting for the GDR ), which belonged in the 1970s and 1980s, a world leader in middle distance running. Her biggest success is the second place in the 1500 meter run ( 3:58,67 min) at the World Athletics Championships in 1987. This time it is the eternal Second German leaderboard above 1,500 meters.

In 1980, she competed at the Olympic Games in Moscow in the 800 -meter run and finished fifth ( 1:57,20 min). Also on fifth places they came at the European Athletics Championships 1978 in Prague and 1982 in Athens ( 1:57,45 1:58,19 min or min).

In 1986 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
