Hilgert in Kannenbäckerland is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Hatton of Hausen.

Geographical location
Hilgert is located about 13 km northeast of Koblenz on the edge of the Nassau nature park.
To Hilgert part of the district Faulbach.
History
First mentioned was the place or the estate " Hilgenrode " in 1340, as " Heymart from the Linden" had slain, a Friar " to Laach ," the cousin of the " Lupreicht of Hilgert ". As atonement was a " pension " for an " eternal light " to pay in the church at Alsbach.

The description reads: " sign of be schweifter silver lace, in a two diagonally crossed blue clay pipes standing blue pitcher, divided; front in gold four oblique red bar, topped with a blue border ending left Peacock, back in blue a golden lion, accompanied by seven golden shingles ".
