Hillehorn

Hille Horn (right) and Hille glacier

The Hille horn is a peak north of Monte Leone in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. It has an altitude of 3'181 m above sea level. M., and located a few meters away from the border between Switzerland and Italy in the municipality of Grengiols. On the northern flank of the Mättitalgletscher flows into Mättital. On the summit plateau east side is the Hille glacier. The Hille Horn is a striking peak, which is looking up with the Bortelhorn from Mittelwallis direction of Brig at its best.

The Hille horn is rarely climbed, the ascent is relatively demanding. In the summer you usually go first to the Punta Mottiscia, which can be reached from the Bocca Mottiscia ( 2,924 m) over the ridge. The Bocca Mottiscia is obtained from the north via the Steinugletscher or from the south (without touching the glacier ). From the Punta Mottiscia to handle the Hille Horn east to then climb over the exposed north ridge. In winter, the steep couloir is occasionally climbed with skis and traveled leading from the north to the saddle between Hille Horn and Punta Mottiscia.
