The Himeji Station (Japanese姫 路 駅, Himeji -eki ) in the big city Himeji in Japan is a regionally important station of the formerly state-owned railway company Japan Railways, and under the name Sanyo Himeji western terminus of the railway company San'yo Denki tetsudō.

The Himeji station was built in 1888 by the 1909 nationalized San'yo tetsudō, making it one of the earliest stations of Japan.

Lines

  • The JR Sanyo Shinkansen runs from Shin- Osaka to Hakata about Himeji:
  • The JR Kobe Line is coming from Kobe the continuation of the Tōkaidō Main Line, from Himeji to Fukuoka on Kyushu it is called Sanyo Main Line.
  • The JR Bantan - line leads from Himeji 66 km north to Wadayama.
  • The JR Kishin Line runs from Himeji from Tsuyama over to the about 160 km from the small town of Niimi in the northwest of adjacent Okayama Prefecture.

The trains of the San'yo main line of private San'yo Denki tetsudō run between Himeji and Nishidai in Kobe on their own track, and continue on urban tracks of the route Kosoku - Kobe and tracks the Hankyu Dentetsu up behind the city center of Kobe.
